Hi!

I'm Mara, thanks for visiting my blog! I will be traveling around the world for the next years and explore amazing places in different countries! I am always seeking Adventures, Good Food, Martial Arts Experiences, Unique and sometimes Weird Stuff. \(^o^)/

SINGAPORE

Republik Singapura

新加坡共和国

சிங்கப்பூர் குடியரசு

Singapore is considered as the Switzerland of Asia and as soon as I arrived I understood that statement. Not only is Singapore one of the cleanest cities I have seen so far, but it’s also very multicultural. Singapore itself is a very young republic and did you know that it once was a Tropical Rainforest?

You can hear Mandarin, Malay, Tamil and everybody’s second language is English. This was very comfortable for traveling and it’s an incredible tourist-friendly city. Singapore has a many points of interest and it was the first time the thought occurred me, that this might be a city I could imagine to stay and work for some time. For me it was like a clash from Dubai and Taipei, because of the buildings Down Town but also the delicious food and bakeries everywhere and of course Bubble Tea Shops!

INSTAGRAM SIGHTS

Take a morning run or just walk around the OLYMPIC WALK, while the MARINE SANDS BAY HOTEL always in sight and come across the famous MERLION Statue, the stylish ARTSCIENCE MUSEUM and the HELIX BRIDGE leading to the LUXURY SHOPPING MALL Marina Sands, where I only could afford a Bubble Tea >.< There’s also a MARVELS RESTAURANT and other cool things to see!

GARDENS BY THE BAY

An absolute MUST is the Light Spectacle at the GARDENS BY THE BAY! Visit the UNESCO Listed Garden first, including the CLOUD FOREST and FLOWER DOME and head around 19:30 to the SKY TREES to get a good spot. Right at 19:45 the GARDEN RHAPSODY starts with a fantastic musical and light show, that makes your mouth drop and let’s you forget your age!

STROLLING

If you like FERRY WHEELS you shouldn’t miss out on the SINGAPORE FLYER, the giant Ferry wheel. You don’t have to go up, just strolling along the PROMENADE and get a good shot of the famous hotel.

TROPICAL

Spend at least half a day in the amazing BOTANIC GARDENS with the SWAN LAKE and ORCHID GARDENS, just like beautiful plants and a lot of silent places to recover from the daily business. There is also a CHILDREN'S GARDEN, where parents with their kids meet up and they can play and get in touch with friendly dogs.

NIGHT LIFE

Have a walk at the FORT CANNING PARK and stroll to the CLARKE QUAY with colorful houses, restaurants, bars and clubs. Definitively a spot for the NIGHT LIFE!

The NATIONAL GALLERY, the CITY HALL, the RAFFLES HOTEL and the MINT MUSEUM OF TOYS can also be done in one or half a day, depending on how much you like museum.

SHOPPING

Spend a day in the giant SHOPPING MALLS, with GAME ARCADES, GYMS, 10x STARBUCKS’s, FOOD COURTS, SINGLE KARAOKE ROOMS and so on! I recommend you SUNTEC CITY because it also hosts the FOUNTAIN OF WEALTH.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

If you like Amusement Parks you can’t miss out on the SANTOSA ISLAND with the UNIVERSAL STUDIOS! There is actually an INSADONG STREET right before the entrance with Korean Delicacies! You can get there by four ways. The fanciest one is by Cable Car, another pretty unnecessary one is by boat. You can also take the Monopol Tram or just simply walk there.

GET WILD

Plan a NIGHT SAFARI at the ZOO or a trip to the WETLAND RESERVE, also the MacRitchie RESERVOIR PARK is worth to see!

TIPS

Head to the DOVER STREET MARKET, which is a high-end fashion indoor market in an exclusive quarter. We actually got invited by a designer, so – DRESS UP!
