CHINA
1 MONTH CHINA ITINERARY
STARTING
Usually flying to and out of China is quiet expensive. You probably find the cheapest flights from anywhere to Shanghai. Another possibility, is to start from Hongkong and fly to Guilin or Kunming, or take the train to Xiamen/Guilin or where ever you like. You can also take trains from Thailand or Vietnam to cross the boarders and arrive in Kunming.
SUGGESTION
WHEN TO GO: in November / December, because there are very few tourists and it's only getting cold in Luoyang, Beijing and Harbin.
WHY: You can include the amazing Ice & Snow Festival in Harbin (24th December to February of the next year)
ROUTE
Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Guilin - (Kunming) - Chengdu - Zhangjiajie - Chongqing - Chengdu - Xi'an - Luoyang - Beijing - Harbin - Shanghai - Xiamen - Hong Kong
NOTE: besides Harbin to Shanghai, all the way can be done by train, which is comfortable and cheaper than flying.
