About ME
Hi!
I'm Mara, thanks for visiting my blog! I will be traveling around the world for the next years and explore amazing places in different countries! I am always seeking Adventures, Good Food, Martial Arts Experiences, Unique and sometimes Weird Stuff. \(^o^)/
SAN
FRANCISCO
Frisco is an amazing and beautiful city, I’m sure you will enjoy your stay.
Even though they have a lot of homeless people, you don’t realize this as much as in Los Angeles. The streets are wonderful with buildings just like in the TV Series Full House and the Rolling Hills, give something dynamic to the Golden City. Most of the things on the list below, you find on every other one too, but I truly think these are worth to see. As always, I try to make it itinerary style-like, so you can visit a few things in the same area to save time and get the best out of your trip.
You can easily spend four or more days in San Francisco.
Frisco is another city you can explore by FOOT or by BICYCLE. There are rentals everywhere, most of them are to be found around FISHERMANS WHARF. You can rent a bike there and cycle all the way to and maybe over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Find this Skyline and Tag me in your Picture! @toughcookie.yo
CHINA TOWN
We stayed somewhere in the CHINA TOWN Area, which is also close to the ART DISTRICT. Just stroll around, get a BUBBLE TEA and eat some delicious Chinese food. If you don’t mind walking, the Market Street is close by and you can get to the Pier 39 by walking too.
It's Love!
ASHBURY HAIGHT
In the HAIGHT ASHBURY you will be thrown straight back into the 80’s, receiving a unique Hippie vibe. There are countless, colorful stores and restaurants, maybe you can even find the giant legs hanging out the window of a store.
GG BRIDGE
The other option is to visit the BOTANICAL GARDEN, where you have pay an entry fee and it is quiet crowded. The CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES is right next to it. There is also park where you can find a beautiful ROSE GARDEN, which is free to visit.
The GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE is a #MustSee on every Bucket List! It is as impressive as in all the movies and much longer than it seems. I recommend to make the trip, when you are driving out to the MUIR WOOD NATIONAL PARK to see the giant RED WOOD TREES or....
...
...spend an afternoon at this hidden GEM.
PIER39
For shopping, good food and seal watching, you can spend a day in the FISHERMANS WHARF, there is also the famous PIER39 to explore. Ferries to different places start from the harbor. You can also rent a cycle, bring it on the ferry and ride back over the Golden Gate Bridge.
The ferry for the legendary ALCATRAZ ISLAND is also leaving from the Pier 39. I highly recommend to book in advance, because there are always lots of tourists wanting to visit the mysterious and scary old prison.
BEACH
If you continue to walk or cycle towards the GG Bridge, you will come a cross a small BEACH with swimmers during all seasons of the year and a little up the HILL you reach the GOLDEN GATE PARK, where you have a great view on the giant bridge. Close to the park is the FARMERS MARKET, with fresh and delicious food.
YODA & PRETTY BUILDINGS
Hanging in the Park with my new CALI Hat still having the labels on it >.<
There is also a place called PRESIDIO, a military fort, with residences and events, just like a Starbucks. The park is really nice and calming, maybe you can even find the YODA STATUE. Within ten minutes walking up the hill, you will reach the LOVE LANE with pretty buildings and another green spot in the big city.
LANDS END
Another part of San Francisco you shouldn’t miss is the LANDS END and POINT LOBOS, with an amazing ocean view. There are also the old ruins of the SUTRO BATHS. Hang out on the leftover pieces of the basin and enjoy an ice cold beer. Afterwards you can walk down and reach the OCEAN BEACH, having a nice day on the beach, maybe even spotting some surfers.
...
Maybe you can even find the Full House Building at the ALAMO SQUARE - the actual house is at 1709 Broderick Street
TENDERLOIN QUARTER
If you don’t mind some dark places and homeless people you might also want to check out the TENDERLOIN quarter. You will find amazing STREET ART here, just like old buildings and delicious food. Artist currently are working on giving a whole new touch to this hidden gem.
SHOPPING AT THE MARKET STREET
Stroll along the MARKET STREET and discover the Ice Cream Museum, Powell and Market Cable Car Turnaround and a typical shopping mile. The road starts at the Ferry Building Marketplace and ends in the TWIN PEAK Quarter.
JAPAN TOWN
There is the JAPAN TOWN quarter close by the Alamo Square. Yummy Sushi and other delicacies, just like a famous DAISO Store, where you can buy essentials for traveling. Mouth-watering MATCHA ICE CREAM, BUBBLE TEA, GADGET SHOPS, GAMING STORES and even a K-POP store are located there too. If you have enough time and some fable for Japan, I highly recommend a visit ^.^
