About ME
Hi!
I'm Mara, thanks for visiting my blog! I will be traveling around the world for the next years and explore amazing places in different countries! I am always seeking Adventures, Good Food, Martial Arts Experiences, Unique and sometimes Weird Stuff. \(^o^)/
PERTH
Last stop of my spontaneous Australia Trip was Perth. I heard a lot of negative stuff about Perth before I arrived. It's partly true, the city doesn't offer as much as Melbourne or Sydney and has a different charm form Adelaide. Still, I enjoyed my days in the capital city of Western Australia and found many things to do. What I loved about Perth were the Free Bus Lines within the city center and the countless Bubble Tea Shops on one Street!
SWAN RIVER ACTIVITIES
When I arrived it was golden hour and I couldn't help but start exploring the city. I discovered a beautiful Running Track along the SWAN RIVER. You could spend hours riding a bike or walking along the trail, finding parks, golf and racing courts. Perth is definitely a "photogenic" city.
ELISABETH QUAY
The area around Elisabeth Quay is totally worth every second. You'll find a nice restaurant, amazing view of the skyline of Perth, a Carousel, a Waterpark, just like a Basketball Court. Boats to ROTTNEST ISLAND depart from there as well.
CITY CENTER
The City Center has all the typical SHOPS you can find, besides Starbucks, which I started to miss in Adelaide. Also other Coffee Shops are difficult to find, besides that there are plenty of BUBBLE TEA Stores, just like a hand full of Korean and Japanese RESTAURANTS.
OXFORD STREET
Yes there is an OXFORD STREET in Leederville! You can take the Green Bound Bus to get there. Grab a drink in one of the BARS, enjoy a FROYO or stay for dinner at one of the famous places. At this point I thought Perth has something of Los Angeles.
DAY TRIPS
ROTTNEST ISLAND - $$$
If you have heard of Perth, you surely have heard of the famous Rottnest Island as well. The only catch: it's expensive. You can book the ferry ride there and back including a bicycle to get around the Island and take Selfies with the incredibly cute QUOKKAS.
MARGARET RIVER
Explore the underground caves, catch some waves or get on a whale watching boat, besides that you can do some bushwalking and check out the vineyards. A favorite city escape with many different outdoor activities.
THE PINNACLES - NAMBUNG NATIONAL PARK
Somewhere in the nowhere, about 200km north of Perth you'll find the funny looking stones in the heart of the desert. Totally worth the trip, but it's a little bit difficult to get there if you don't have a car of your own. Make friends with some locals or rent a car with some backpackers to get there. Once you are there, don't miss out on the sand boarding.
